What Is An Overrunning Clutch?
Industrial overrunning clutches, also known as freewheel clutches, is a clutch that can be easily applied to your new or existing overrunning clutch application. Typically used in the automotive industry, the overrunning clutch transmits the torque in one direction only is used when the driven shaft rotates faster than the driveshaft, disengaging the driveshaft from a driven shaft.

Our solid carbon steel design allows these industrial clutches to compete with the heaviest torque clutches on the market. The roller ramp design allows these freewheeling clutches to spin up to 1,800 RPM's (see assembly rating chart), with no thermal breakdown. Our overrunning clutch is manufactured in standard bore sizes ranging from 1/4" to 2-3/4".
